Facebook Anxiety…

So I just started getting into Facebook.  I’m feeling a little bit of Facebook anxiety about the whole thing.  I started looking at Friends list from people I went to high school with and I’m wondering to myself.  Should I send them a friend request?   I haven’t seen them or spoken to them or made any effort to contact them in like 15 years.  And even that, I can’t say I was really friends with them.  More like social acquiantences.  I saw one person who I would consider a true friend.  But to me it’s weird…  

 Life is so different after High School.  It’s funny seeing the places where some of my former classmates are living.  I’ve got my own friends, my own life and they have theres. 

I’m a cut and run individual.  When I move on to a place or situation I cut all non essential ties and don’t look back.  It’s just easier that way, nothing holding you back, no strings attached.  There’s the downside though…you do miss out on the richness of formal relationships.

So for now, I’m not going to send them a friend request.  It’s not that I don’t want to talk to them or say hi.  But maybe they just won’t care, maybe they don’t remember.  Who knows.   If they find me cool.  We’ll see.  I may change my mind.

It’s just funny.  Thinking about people again after so long.

I just signed up for a facebook account.  Thanks to my wife.  Now I’m trying to figure out how to link my blog to it.
