New Media Server for Xbox 360

I just heard of a new media server that works with the Xbox 360. It’s call Tversity (Check it out). Supposedly it allows media formats that the WMP won’t, like Internet audio, podcasts, video streams, etc…

I’m looking forward to checking it out, I’ve been unable to get my PC to work with the Windows Media Center Extender. I’m hopeful, but not overly optimistic this will work. Will keep you posted.

**UPDATE**

I down loaded the app when I got home turned the xbox on and what do you know.  It Works!!!  I can’t believe it.  Why can’t I get it to work with Media Center?  It’s funny that a free open source app works better then the one designed by microsoft.  Why am I not surprised.  By the way.  It works great.  I’ve not messed around with the video options yet, I’ll do that tomorrow.  Check it out I’m sure you’ll love it.

ugh - don’t tell phil about new technology! i am convinced you guys are bad influences on each other - you all go and get big tvs in a row, (well i think you already had yours) then everyone gets a 360, then whenever there is a cool game everyone has to get it, now jesse had the hd dvd player - how long before my husband is at best buy picking that one up?? can’t you just sit around and drink tea and talk like the wives??? ha ha! actually i think us wives just need to do more pedicures and shopping trips to even things out a little bit….also there needs to be a way for us to hang out via technology like you guys can just hang out playing xbox live…no FAIR! i am forced to sit there watching you guys blow each other up and chainsaw heads in half while trying to relax in my living room!

This is a great app.! I use it to stream .ogg files as there is no way to do that normally. I can also pull the stream up on any computer on the network so my laptop doesn’t need anything taking up space on the hard drive other than VLC! If you have some weird formates you want to stream try this trick…

It has to be playable in WMP to play on the 360 so “force” it into the library with the above plugin. Only catch is I can only get it to work with Windows Media Player 10.
